Madrid e-filing developments in Turkey
WIPO and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) have concluded an agreement with regards to the Madrid e-filing service.
In this context, applicants will be able to file international trademark applications directly through the Madrid E-filing application. Turkish trademark applicants seeking to protect their trademarks abroad, can now apply online through the Madrid e-Filing service.
More importantly, with the adoption of Madrid e-Filing service by TURKPATENT, the period between the acceptance of an international application by the national office and forwarding it to WIPO has come to an end.
TURKPATENT continues to implement international systems and we expect that the trademark process will be shortened with the effective use of the service.
