Turkish Patent and Trademark Office updates the Trademark Examination Guideline
Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) published The Updated Trademark Examination Guideline on March 4, 2022. The guideline has been updated by addressing the principles of “Likelihood of Confusion” that is one of the relative grounds of refusal.
In the updated sections regarding the evaluation of goods & service and visual similarity in trademarks, the main factors affecting the likelihood of confusion were explained in detail with key remarks and examples.
The Office continues to provide guidance for companies and practitioners by its updated guidelines.
